This listing is for a lovely Sterling Silver open sugar bowl made by the Whiting Mfg. Co., c. 1914. The body of the bowl has a rectangular shape with paneled corners, wide handles and elaborate embossed foot at each corner. Silver has a fancy 3-letter monogram "E N H" on center front. Marked with the trademark stamp for the Whiting Mfg. Co. who began business in New York in 1840. Also marked "Sterling, 9439" with the date code for 1914.
Measures 3 1/4" high (at handles) and 5 3/4" long (at handles) and 3" wide (at top). W
eighs 185 grams.
This nice sugar bowl is in very good Estate
condition with no major flaws although there are several minor dents and dings on the body from normal wear (see photos).
Please note in our last photo we are showing the sugar bowl holding Sterling Silver butter pats (being sold separately). Used as a holder for butter pats or artificial sweetener packets is a great purpose for a single sugar bowl.
