Royal Caudon England Aviary 8 Cups, 8 Saucers & 8 Lunch Plates 8 Different Birds
This is a set of china from Royal Cauldon of England.  The pattern is Aviary and the designer is  Henry Pausch.  The design features a very intricate molded outer rim on the plates and saucers and outside the cup with a bird in the center ( the bird is inside on the cups).  There are 8 different sets.  Each has a luncheon plate and matching cup & saucer.  The birds on the Luncheon plates have the artist's signature.  The design is a transfer design - not hand painted.   Included in the set are:
Summer Tanager - small black dot on the plate rim edge like a black pepper flake
Red Wing Blackbird - Crazing to the plate
Eastern Bluebird - Crazing to the plate
Baltimore Oriole - Light crazing to the plate
Pine Grossbeak - light crazing to the plate
Goldfinch - crazing to the plate, cup and saucer (must have been a favorite)
Cardinal
Blue Jay - Crazing to the plate
Set is in good, gently used condition with no chips, nicks or cracks. Most plates have crazing to the glaze. One plate has a black spot at the rim edge. See description for more detail.  Please view the photos for a better description. I have other neat things listed.  Please view
