Antique Georgian Sterling Silver Sugar Tongs Jonathan Hayne London 1823 Hallmark

Description

This antique Georgian sterling silver sugar tongs by Jonathan Hayne is in very good condition with the exception of an old crease at the top of the handle, as shown in the photographs. The tongs have been monogrammed on the handle with what looks like “E C A”. The tongs are 5-3/4” long, weigh 1.49 ounces, and have been hallmarked. The hallmarks are a “Leopard Head” (London), a “Lion Passant” ( Sterling), “h” (date mark for 1823), and “King George IV Profile” on on side and “JH” for Jonathan Hayne on the other.
