An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver sugar basket; an addition to our silver teaware collection
This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver sugar basket with liner has a bell-shaped form onto a circular spreading foot.
The wirework surface of this fine example of Edwardian silverware is embellished with hallmarked cast and applied stemmed floral and foliate branches accented with perched bird designs and suspended from ribbon bows to each side.
The undulating rim of the body is embellished with an applied rope twist decorated border.
This antique basket retains the original wirework swing handle, ornamented with further applied floral designs.
This impressive Edwardian silver basket is fitted with a removable pink glass liner, with a paralleling undulating rim.
Condition
This antique Edwardian basket is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
The applied decoration is all very sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of Edwardian silverware.
